I had been drooling over all the tufted headboards floating around the web so when I found this
Craiglist find in my mother's garage along with the matching dresser and bookcase just rotting away in there I knew I HAD to have it and transform it for my 2 year old daughters big girl bedroom. We just bought our first home and this was going to be her first big girl bed!
I was finally starting to make progress!
I then covered it with black velvet with the staple gun
and drilled holes where I wanted the rhinestoned buttons to go.
Then I put the screws through each hole and covered the the screws with HUGE rhinestoned buttons that sparkle!
I also made this knock off of the "KEEP CALM" sign for her room. I used my Silhouette machine and used the vinyl as a stencil and spray painted over it....now I just have to distress it!
I have put so much time and love into this room so far. There is still a ways to go but my baby girl loves it!

As soon as I saw it I had an instant plan of turning it into a black velvet rhinestoned tufted headboard!
So recently I got to work!
Sanded...my Lord I hate sanding!]
I then traced the headboard on to some plywood and cut it out with a jigsaw for extra sturdiness for the screws to go through
Painted the legs black to match the material
Covered with an egg crate bed foam with a staple gun!
then covered with a sheet to smooth it out

There is still a lot to do especially get her some shabby bedding because I'm tired of looking at the lips!
On top of doing the tufted headboard I had to do a chandelier makeover!
Here is the before...
nasty dusty chandelier found at a thrift store and I talked them down to 4 bucks!

And this is the first stage....
I painted hot pink, glazed it of course , spray painted black crystal cups and glued them on,rhinestoned the bottom of each light holder, found crystal necklaces at target and cut them up and strung them together and then added pink rhinestoned cameos and a little birdie...
Then I added socket covers and covered those with fabric and light lightbulbs.
Sorry for the crumby pics! My camera just wasn't cooperating today and needs a time out!

Then I added socket covers and covered those with fabric and light lightbulbs.

I also made the wall art by her bed...painted canvases gold then painted the silhouettes by hand, added bows and then added a pink glazed frame on the center one.
